Our middle school boys took a loss in the first round of the Limestone County Tournament to Ardmore. Future looks bright for these boys as they finish the season with 17-7 record.

MONDAY:

Elkmont JV played an awesome game against East yesterday and pulled out a 48-33 VICTORY to advance to the Championship game where they will be playing this Saturday, the 26th, at 3:00 against Ardmore. Please come out and show your support! It was a game full of excitement with tons of amazing plays and shots, but here are three of some of my favorites...Eli Boldin #10 hitting his 3s and Ty Roberts #3 in on a rebound and assists. 😍 😈🏀 #GoDevils #EHS

COACH SUTTON'S THOUGHTS:
The team put together three wins with a focused, disciplined effort that got us to the championship.  We made too many unforced errors in the final game against West Morgan to come away with a win.  We have had a good season but this loss does show where we need to improve to make a run at the County Championship next month.

HAVEN KIRBY - PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The Decatur Daily newspaper has a contest each week recognizing the players that have outstanding performances on the basketball court. It is called the Fans' Players of the Week.  The nominees are voted on throughout the week.  One young woman and man are chosen by the highest votes.  The voting continued to Tuesday, December 12.  Our Haven Kirby was selected as the Player of the Week.

The junior guard scored in double figures in three games last week, including 28 points in a win over Clements. "She leads us in scoring, assists and steals,” Coach Sam Wallace said. “She sets the tempo of the game with her energy. She's very difficult to guard because of her quickness, but she is a team kid. Very unselfish.”
