MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS SCORE BIG ON THE COLTS


The Elkmont Middle School Red Devils Basketball team beat Clements 44 - 4 in their first meeting this season.  Wow, talk about defense.   Brady Garris led Elkmont with 12 points and Taylor Thomas was next highest leading scorers.  






















The Middle School Lady Devils lost in a hard fought game in two overtimes.  


The middle school teams travel to Ardmore tonight. Games start at 6 pm



Both of the Clements varsity teams took wins over the Elkmont.  

The Red Devils' high school teams travel to West Limestone.  The JV boys game starts at 4:30 pm followed by the girls varsity game and then the boys varsity game.

Decatur Heritage 52, Elkmont 30: The Eagles had three players score in double figures in a win against Elkmont.  Tyde Coffey led Decatur Heritage with 15 points, while Jake Holland scored 12 and Lee Godwin added 11.

Bryant Wales led Elkmont with 10 points and Matthew Barnes tossed in eight.

Monday was not a good day for the Elkmont High School Basketball Program.  All four teams took a loss.  The varsity teams will be playing today starting at 4 pm vs. the Clement Colts.  The Middle School teams have the rest of the week off and will resume games next week.

ELKMONT YOUTH BASKETBALL SEASON STARTS

NEW HOPE TAKES 2 OUT 3

As the 2012 -2013 basketball season starts here in Elkmont, the varsity and junior varsity programs hosted New Hope.  The Lady Devils began their year by taking a win, 50 - 45.  Both boys programs took a loss in what looks to be a rebuilding year.

The Red Devils and Lady Devils will be playing in the Decatur Heritage Thanksgiving Tournament, Nov. 19 - 21

WEST LIMESTONE SWEEP MIDDLE SCHOOL GAMES

West Limestone rolled into Elkmont Thursday night and took both games.  The Elkmont Middle School Lady Devils beat West Limestone in their previous meeting 28 - 26 but the Lady Wildcats returned the favor by winning 29 -25 in their second meeting.  The Lady Devils led until half time in a very close game but as the third quarter ended West tied the score at 20 - 20.  The two teams continued to play hard during the fourth quarter but the Lady Wildcats were able to pull ahead as the horn signaled the end of the game.

After a season to remember with the Elkmont Red Devils making it to the Elite Eight and the finals of the Northwest Regional, this year's team is back to square one.  Losing five seniors and four starters will be a major hurdle for Elkmont to overcome as they start the rebuilding process.  They will open their season against New Hope, Nov. 16.

WEST LIMESTONE TIPOFF RESULTS

The Elkmont Middle School Girls team won again last night.  They beat the host team in the West Limestone Tipoff Tournament.  The Lady Devils led at the end of all four quarters for a 28 - 26 win.  It looks like Elkmont's team are on track to have an enjoyable season.

The Middle School Red Devils struggled against a high scoring West Limestone team.  The Wildcats opened up a big lead in the first quarter, 27 - 3.   Elkmont wasn't able to overcome that huge margin and dropped their second game 55 - 23.
