Our Lady Red Devils have been hard at work this month getting ready for the 2017/18 season. Yes, our various sports programs have play dates, camps, workouts and more during June to develop the talents of our young athletes. The varsity girls coach, Samuel Wallace, held practices for two weeks earlier in June and now has taken the team to the Birmingham Southern Basketball Team Camp on the 22nd and 23th for 3 games on Friday and 3 games on Saturday.

Friday:
We went 0-3 today. Lost by 1 at the buzzer to Section who went to the sweet 16 last season. Lost by 10 to Paxton from Florida who were the state champs in their classification last season. Lost by 15 to Slocomb from south Alabama. Girls played really hard. Very proud of their defensive effort. You have to crawl before you can walk. They are learning to compete.
Saturday:
Our team went 1-2 today; 1-5 overall. Kids played very hard all day. It's been a great 2 days of learning to compete. The future is bright.
