BAILEE FLORDIA BOUND FOR NCAA II SOUTH REGION TOURNAMENT

Haven't found TV game coverage yet but will keep looking.  Radio may be the best we can get.

NCAA_BBALL_SplashUPDATED

For the second straight season, the University of Alabama in
Huntsville women's basketball team will participate in the NCAA
tournament as the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee
announced the 64-team field for the national tournament on Sunday
night. UAH will be the No. 7 seed in the South Region and face
second-seeded Tuskegee on Friday, March 15.

The Lady Chargers earned the automatic berth of the Gulf South
Conference after going on a three-game tear through the GSC
tournament, and in doing so, the team earned a trip to Nova
Southeastern who earned the top seed in the region.

Tuskegee fell in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
tournament but still grabbed the second seed, and the match-up with
UAH marks a rematch of an earlier contest as the Lady Chargers
defeated Tuskegee by a 73-49 score in Huntsville at the start of
the season.

The Lady Chargers will face Tuskeege at 1:30 p.m. CDT
on Friday at NSU.

BAILEE AND THE LADY CHARGERS IN FINALS

bailee robinson.JPG

Exactly a year after Delta State sent UAHuntsville packing in the 2012 NCAA Division II, the Chargers got a little payback -- and also put themselves one win away from another NCAA invitation.  Thinking back on to a year ago, Bailee Robinson said, "It was a long game. After that, we knew we weren't as good a team as we could be."

"I couldn't be prouder of this team," said coach Roy Heintz. "They've come with a purpose in mind and they're carrying it out moment by moment, game by game."

Bailee and the Lady Chargers beat Delta State in the Gulf South Conference semi-finals, 68 -57. She added 11 points and five rebounds.

UAH (14-16) will play in the finals at 1:30 at Samford's Pete Hanna Center, meeting the winner of the West Alabama-North Alabama game

Watch Bailee tomorrow when the Women's Finals will be shown live by ESPN3/ESPN Full Court, Mediacom, and the Alabama Cable Network.

BAILEE AND LADY CHARGERS MOVE TO SEMI FINALS

The UAH Lady Chargers beat Valdosta State 90 - 79. Bailee Robinson scored a three pointer right out of the gate and followed it up soon after to help put UAH up 8 - 0  in the first few minutes.  The Lady Chargers used a trap defense that cause Valdosta State to turn the ball over more than 20 times.  UAH had a big lead at half, 54 - 29.

Valdosta State started to pull it together and cut the lead down to 12 but the UAH guards were able to hit their freethrows down the stretch to hold their lead over VSU.

Jasmine Hammon finished the afternoon with 26 points while teammate Jordan Smith poured in 23 as both shot over 50 percent from the field on the day. Joining the pair in double figures was Bailee Robinson who scored 13 and Natalie Kelley who tallied 12.
