ELKMONT CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT RESULTS

The final day of the Elkmont Christmas tournament saw the Elkmont Red Devils pick up their third win by beating Woodville.  The Devils burned the net up and collected their victory, 81 - 46.

Unfortunately, they couldn't get the fourth win by beating Vinemont.  The Red Devils went toe to toe until the fourth quarter when Vinemont shut the door with a 69 - 50 win. Elkmont didn't get the championship trophy but they had a very successful tournament that will hopefully jump start the second part of their season.

ELKMONT CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT - ELKMONT WINS TWO

The Elkmont Varsity Boys Christmas Tournament tipped off today with wins for the Red Devils.

Elkmont played Richard Hardy High School at noon and came away with a big win, 72- 26.  Five Red Devils were in double figures with Trevor Patterson being the high scorer with 16.

Elkmont closed out the first day of the Christmas tournament with their second win of the day.  They beat Paint Rock after splitting the game wide open in the third quarter by scoring 25 points while allowing only six points defensively.  The Red Devils finished up the game with a score of 78 - 55.

ELKMONT MIDDLE SCHOOL RESULTS FOR DEC 16 -21

December 16 - Elkmont at Clements

Elkmont Middle School boys and girls teams weren't able to pick up a win at Clements in this away game date.  No scores were reported.

December 20 - Clements at Elkmont

The middle school programs played in the old gym.  
The Elkmont Lady Devils won 25 -18. 



The Red Devils beat the Clements Colts to collect the sweep but no score was reported in.

The Elkmont program is taking a break for the rest of 2013 but will be back on the court January 2 with games at Ardmore.

REGARDLESS OF WHO WINS - IT'S ELKMONT

For twenty four minutes, friends became foes at noon on Saturday, December 21,  as Elkmont 1 played Elkmont 2 in the boys 9/10 age group.  Both teams left it all on the floor, with Elkmont 2 winning 29-10. At the end of the game, each player had a bruise on his elbow, a strawberry on his knee, and a smile on his face.  The game was so fast- paced that, at half-time, the referee asked jokingly if IVs were available!

Ty Roberts led Elkmont 2 with eight points, and Jedidiah Sutherland led Elkmont 1 with six.   Both teams will participate in the 9/10 Christmas tournament hosted by Elkmont, December 27.

ELKMONT BURNS PAST OWENS

Colby Murphy and Blake Brown combined for 22 points to lead Elkmont 1 (9/10) past the Owens Rebels, improving the Red Devils' record to 1-2.  Jedidiah Sutherland's six points and Josh Burrows' layup at the buzzer to end the first half rounded out the scoring for the Red Devils, resulting in a final score of 30-9.  Elkmont 1's next game is against Elkmont 2 on December 21 at noon at the Elkmont Old Gym.

ELKMONT LADY DEVILS TAKE FIRST WIN

The Westminister Wildcats rolled into the Hilltop, Dec 10 for a match up with the Red Devils High School teams.  The Lady Red Devils rallied to outscore Westminister by 7 points in the fourth quarter in a hard fought game, picking up their first win over the Lady Wildcats, 51 - 45.  All four of our high school teams will be playing in Lexington, December 17.

ELKMONT VS WEST MORGAN RESULTS - NOVEMBER 3

Varsity Boys Game:
West Morgan 69, Elkmont 37: 
The Rebels stayed perfect with a big victory at home. West Morgan (9-0) had a 32-22 lead at halftime and stretched it out to 57-33 after three quarters.

Amira Davis was the leading scorer with 12 points in the loss for Elkmont.

ELKMONT MIDDLE SCHOOL VS TANNER RESULT - DECEMBER 2

The Elkmont Middle School and the JV girls teams traveled to Tanner on Monday to play the Rattlers.  The Red Devils boys team lost but the score hasn't been reported in.    Haven't heard about the Junior varsity girls game either.  If you know the scores, facebook them to the Hill Spirit. Our middle school girls were scrappy but couldn't put enough points into the basket for an upset.  Elkmont will be traveling to West Limestone on December 5 for their next games.  Middle School girls tip off at 6 pm.
