They started the District 1 All-star tournament on Friday, February 27th. The first game was against Winfield. The girls were ready to play and it showed throughout the whole game. They competed until the very last second of the game, coming out with the win, 28-11.
The semi finals and championship was played on Saturday. The Limestone All Stars was matched up with Russellville in the first semi final game. They went in with a solid game plan and believed they could make it to the championship game at 2 pm. When the game started, the girls were focused on that one thought and were able to turn it into a spot in the finals. They brought home the win, 33-9.
There was break in between games for the team to rest up for the championship. Thanks to Mrs. Melissa Christ for bring some goodies to keep the girls fueled up for the big game. The fans were on the edge and ready to support our All-Stars in their next game We never doubted them, knowing they could bring in the win.
The final game to the tournament started with Florence scoring the first 2 points, but our girls made a quick recovery. Once our team started scoring, they couldn't be stopped. It was all Limestone County from that point on, winning in a strong performance, 45-10. The looks on our girls' faces were priceless as they learned they would be moving on to the State tournament, March 13, in Homewood, AL.
