ELKMONT WINS TVBA CHAMPIONSHIP
The backbone of a successful high school sports program doesn't start at the high school level, or even the middle school level. It starts at a younger age with youth ball programs. The traditional powers have feeder systems including travel ball that develop youngsters into players. The Elkmont area had a fifth grade team that has done well this season. Last Saturday, they defeated the Sheffield Bulldogs in the Tennessee Valley Basketball Association Final Four Championship game, 31-30. Corder Hobbs and Landon Smith had 11 points. Curtis Hobbs had 6 points and Keaton Wallace finished with 3 points.
