Elkmont
girls basketball started off the season on a strong note with a
dominant 33-point win over the Lions. The Red Devils were led by Haven
Kirby, who scored 16 points while also putting up seven assists and six
rebounds. Maggie Gant also had a big night for Elkmont, scoring 15
points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Elkmont dominated almost every portion
of the game.
Elkmont coach Sam Wallace was not sure how his team would perform. He believes the emphatic win will help this team build confidence.
“Our program needs this,” Wallace said. “They don’t think they’re good, but they are good. They’re my kids, and I love them.”
