With all the excitement of ice and snow in the last few weeks, Hill Spirit hasn't taken the opportunity to recognize our 7&8 Elkmont 1 boys team. They had a great tournament and brought home the runner-up trophy.
Elkmont 1 won their first game of the Limestone County tournament over West Limestone 2, 21-10. Curtis Hobbs led the way with 6 points followed by Corder Hobbs and Bryson Miller with 5 points each. Cole Holt chipped in 4 points and Andrew Jackson 1.
They took on Tanner for their second game in the tournament and sent the Rattlers home, 28-19. Bryson Miller paved the way with 12 points followed by Curtis Hobbs with 6. Corder Hobbs scored 4 and Cole Holt, Andrew Jackson and Tavien Jackson chipped in 2 points each . The Red Devils will face Owens 1 in the semi-finals at West Limestone.
Elkmont 1 beat Owens in the semi-finals Tuesday night 24-17 to advance to the championship game at West Limestone. Leading the way was Corder Hobbs with 9 points, followed by Curtis Hobbs with 7. Andrew Jackson pitched in 6 points while Bryson Miller added 2.
The young Red Devils came up short in the finals losing 24-13 to East Limestone. Bryson Miller score 8 points followed by Curtis Hobbs with 5.
