Class 3A
- No. 5 Carbon Hill (24-7) vs. Sheffield (20-7), Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
- Holly Pond (23-7) vs. Elkmont (21-7), Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Carbon Hill: The Bulldogs, who have Tyler Owens, Gerald Smith and Blain Eads returning from last year's Northwest Regional championship squad, head to Hanceville riding a 12-game win streak. The No. 5 team grabbed the Walker County Tournament title earlier in the season and pulled off a 53-49 squeaker against Vinemont at the sub-regional level.
Sheffield: One of the most successful coaches in school history, Ski Anderson, returned this year and led the Bulldogs on a turnaround campaign. They've won eight of their last 10 games with both losses coming to 5A Muscle Shoals. All five Sheffield starters scored double-figures in a sub-region victory over West Morgan.
Holly Pond: The Broncos had three win streaks of at least six games during a season where they dominated most of their Cullman County competition. A lot of Holly Pond's success hinges on the play of 6-foot-4 Thomas Hays in the post. Bryant Sparks, Colby Adams and Gunter Morris serve as legitimate scoring threats from anywhere on the court, and Jacob Cahoon has been known to get hot from behind the arc.
Elkmont: The Red Devils are a big, physical team that surprised a lot of folks this year, keeping it close in contests against powerhouses Tanner (2A) and West Limestone (4A). They're led by four guys – Edwin Glass, Hayden Huseth, Mark Labathe and Cole Glass – who all averaged right around 10 points a game.

*someone is missing from Elkmont's summary - Shhhh!! It will be our secret until Thursday's game. Also, what would we do without the Glass twins.
